Join Letters of Hope as a Letter Writer

The idea behind Letters of Hope is to show people in their darkest hours that there are good people, people who care, and people who will take time out of their day to make them happy. By contributing to this project, you will be helping to break the mental health stigma one letter at a time.

Have you been wanting to volunteer for a good cause, but you are struggling to find an opportunity that works around your other commitments and responsibilities? The best thing about being a Letter Writer is that you can contribute as much, or as little, as you like.

We have letter writers who have written over 100 letters, and others who have written one letter. Each and every contribution is appreciated, and you can volunteer for us in a way that works for you.

For more information about the process of writing your letter/s, please download our Volunteer Information Pack below. After registering as a volunteer, you will also receive a link to our Volunteer Induction Video as well as a link to our Volunteer Stationery Store, where you can order stationery that has been donated to Letters of Hope and have it mailed to you for free.

Letters of Hope Volunteers are able to log their volunteer hours through The Firefly Initiative to earn tokens to spend on gift cards and awesome discounts!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Certainly! We understand that everyone has their comfort levels and preferences when it comes to sharing their name. Volunteers are welcome to use a pen name, sign off with just their first name, or even use terms like 'stranger' or 'a friend.' If someone prefers to remain anonymous, they are more than welcome to not include a name at all. Your contribution, regardless of how you choose to sign off, makes a meaningful impact.
